The company continues to expand, between evolution and innovation, investing in two new projects: the production of film events and the organization of cultural events, including theater and music. In 2018 it organizes, in fact, the 64th edition of the Taormina International Film Festival and the same will do in 2019, producing and organizing the 65th edition of the Taormina Film Fest, which will be held from June 30th to July 6th.
Videobank is a Telecommunications company, leader in Italy and Europe in Video Broadcasting and Satellite Uplink services.
Founded in 1995 in Belpasso, Sicily, as an Internet Service Provider, it began its activity in the Information & Communication Technology sector, immediately obtaining the license of "Telecommunications Operator" from the relevant Ministry. In 1998 it is one of the two companies operating in Italy to activate Internet access for its customers through green numbers (800): an operating reality allowed for a very short period but which has made the company one of the pioneers in the sector. The following year it activates Internet access with a free subscription, without fees and urban time charges. Since 2000, a joint-stock company, thanks to an extraordinary intuition, has appeared in the new reality of wireless networks, supporting its experimentation and creating a network throughout the island in 2003. For the president of Intel Corporation, Paul Otellini, "Videobank has created the largest hotspot in the world, with over 420 repeaters throughout Sicily, spread over an area of over 3,200 km²". Thus was born the first network in Italy to be certified by Intel for Centrino technology. Catania thus becomes the first city entirely served by wi-fi. The entrepreneurial and productive turning point came in 2004, when the company purchased the first mobile satellite station, revolutionizing its Core Business and approaching the Internet and telecommunications to a new market: Video Broadcasting. In 2011 he consolidated his relationship with Mediaset, with the contract of the Rome and Bari operating offices.
