Great Cinema at the Teatro Antico, Masterclass and Campus for the youngsters, workshops with auteurs and great protagonists of the film business, from Academy Award winners Patricia Arquette and Gabriele Salvatores to international previews. These are only some of the ingredients of this 61st edition of the TaorminaFilmFest (13-20 June), organized by Agnus Dei with Tiziana Rocca as the General Manager. This edition marks the comeback of the International Competition of films, TAO61, with a special Jury of Youngsters (it’s the Youth Jury of the David di Donatello), which will vote the best film presented at the Festival, awarding it the “Cariddino D’Oro”, thanks to the agreement with AGIS Scuola. On the opening night of the Festival, The Reach- Caccia all’ Uomo, a film by Jean-Baptiste Leonetti with Michael Douglas, Jeremy Irvine, Hanna Mangan Lawrence, Ronny Cox, Patricia Bethune, David Garver and Martin Palmer. The film, distributed by Notorius Pictures, will open the International Competition . Franco Montini, Jacopo Mosca, Chiara Nicoletti and Gabriele Niola, who are part of the committee of selection, compose the artistic direction of the Festival. Godmother of this 61st edition of the Festival is Asia Argento. “We are very happy she has accepted our invitation – says Tiziana Rocca – as an actress, director, screenwriter, singer and much more, Asia is one of the most fascinating actresses of our cinema, known and recognized at international level. Having her, a strong, fierce and courageous woman as godmother of a festival that always places an important focus on the female universe is a cause of pride”. On the 12th of June a preview in Messina, where the Festival was born 61 years ago, will take place involving the whole city. A special screening in original version with Italian subtitles of the newest Disney Pixar masterpiece “Inside Out” will open the 61st Edition of the Taormina Film Festival, the movie event directed by general manager Tiziana Rocca. Directed by Academy Award winner Pete Docter (“Monsters Inc.”, “Up”), produced by Jonas Rivera, PGA (“Up”) and featuring an original score by Micheal Giacchino (“The Incredibles”, “Ratatouille”, “Up”), Disney Pixar’s “Inside Out” opens in theatres in US on June 19, 2015 and will release in Italy on September 16, 2015. Based in Headquarters, the control center inside 111-year-ol Riley’s mind, five Emotions are hard to work led by lighthearted optimist Joy whose mission is to make sure Riley stays happy. Fear heads up safety, Anger ensures all is fair and Disgust prevents Riley from getting poisoned – both physically and socially. Sadness isn’t exactly sure what her role is, and frankly, neither is anyone else.
