11/21/2009 - Jessica Lange and Grey Gardens are big Emmy winners
Presented on the big screen for the first time in the Taormina’s Teatro Antico, the made-for-TV movie “Grey Gardens” and its star Jessica Lange swept the Emmy awards this year.
The film, which was produced by HBO, is based on Albert and David Maysles’ 1975 documentary chronicling two eccentric relatives of Jackie Kennedy Onassis, “Big Edie” and her daughter “Little Edie”, whose wealthy lifestyle fell vanished into abject squalor on Long Island in the 1970’s.

Jessica Lange, guest of the Taormina Film Fest in Sicily and recipient of the Taormina Arte Award 2009, won her first Emmy for her dazzling performance as Big Edie. Lange has also won two Oscars.

The Taormina Film Fest in Sicily warmly salutes Jessica and HBO.
