:: PLOT

A father and son’s troubled relationship reaches a new level of understanding when the man reveals a story that shaped his life during World War 2. Captured by the Germans and held in a muddy pit, he and three friends had awaited execution if the identity of a saboteur was not discovered. As the hour of their demise approached, their guard began to infuse the situation with a levity that somehow neutralized the pathos of life, death and war. He not only allowed his kindness to transcend the gruesome uniform, but taught the prisoners a lesson none of them would ever forget: that the ultimate weapon in the face of tragedy is humor. A deeply moving tale of salvation and gratitude.
