In questa parodia di Sunset Boulevard, Joey Davis, ex-bambino attore disoccupato, sfrutta il suo charme perché Lidia, sua padrona di casa, gli abbassi l'affitto. In seguito cerca di esercitare la sua influenza anche su Sally Todd, attrice ripulita che in realtà non era stata molto famosa neanche all'apice della sua carriera. Sally tenta di aiutare Joey fino a quando lui non capisce che le amicizie di Sally non sono abbastanza potenti per potergli essere utile. L'affare si complica quando la figlia psicotica di Sally, Jessica, forse lesbica forse no, cerca di intromettersi nella relazione tra sua madre e Joey.
