ADVANCES OF TFF 2002
The 2002 edition of the TaorminaFilmFest will be dedicated to Francis Ford Coppola and to Sergio Leone, with an ample retrospective on these two great directors.
Felice Laudadio, the director of the festival, announced this and that the dates of next year's edition will be from Saturday 8th to Sunday 16th June. The Nastri d'Argento awards will be presented on the last evening. The idea of anticipating the Festival comes from the needs of the distributors to use Taormina as a jumping board for the summer season's programme making full advantage of it and adapting to European standards.

NASTRI D'ARGENTO 2001
The "Nastri d'Argento 2001" have also been awarded for the 56th year running by the National Union of Italian Cinema Journalists.

Nanni Moretti won this award for the best Italian film "La Stanza del Figlio". Others mentioned were…

 

Diamond Award

The Taormina Arte Diamond Award is presented at the TaorminaFilmFest. This prestigious prize, a diamond tennis bracelet is especially created by the "Diamond Information Centre of the Diamond Trading Company". Amongst the first to be awarded this prize are Ettore Scola, Giancarlo Giannini and Gillo Pontecorvo. In the next few days other great personalities of international cinema will follow suit.
